Developed by Oberon Games, Mahjong Titans is a computer game. This version of mahjong solitaire can be played on Windows Vista and Windows 7 and is included in their Home Premium Business/Professional Enterprise and Ultimate editions.
Features of Mahjong Titans
Mahjong Titans includes a choice of four different tile sets with the ability to choose from five different backgrounds. The tiles sets include traditional mahjong tiles, a pastel set with a different picture theme, larger print tiles or fuller color tiles. The player can choose from six different tile layouts, including a dragon, a spider, a fortress, a cat, a turtle or a crab.
Aim of the Game of Mahjong Titans
The aim of Mahjong Titans is to match pairs of tiles, thereby removing all your tiles from the board.
Beginning the Game of Mahjong Titans
To start the game of Mahjong Titans you must click on the start button. Select All Programs and then select Games. Click on Games Explorer and then double click on Mahjong Titans. If you have a previously saved game you can continue playing that game, otherwise a new game will begin. You will then be able to select the tile layout from the six options listed above.
Playing the Game of Mahjong Titans
Once you have selected a tile layout, the tiles will appear on your screen. Tiles are arranged in a 3D format. Select an available tile by clicking on it and then select a matching tile to remove them from the screen. In order to be able to select a tile, the tile must be free on one side. Any tile that has a tile blocking it on both sides will not be free to select.
Matching Tiles
Tiles must be identical, in most cases, in order to be matched. There are classes of tiles – characters, balls and bamboos and each class of tiles has tiles numbered 1 through 9. Both the class and the number must match in order for the tile to match. There are also unique tiles in Mahjong Titans. There are winds which must match exactly, dragons which must match exactly, flowers which can match any other flower and seasons which can match any season.
Special Features of Mahjong Titans
Players are able to go back and undo a move by clicking on the Game Menu and then clicking on Undo. You can undo a move as many times as you want, but you will lose two points each time you do this. If you are stuck, you are able to receive hints from the software. If you click on the Game Menu and then click on Hint, two matching tiles will flash. Alternatively, if you right click on a tile, its free matching tile will flash. The online game of Mahjong has come a long way since its origins.
Combination Bonuses
Players are able to earn combination bonuses in Mahjong Titans. If you match pairs of the same class two or more times in a row, you will receive a bonus. Also, if you match flowers or seasons twice in a row, you will receive bonus points.
